Sunday's Treasures

It's been absolutly beautiful here for more than a week and you know what that means, great weather to go out and find treasures! I wake up on Sunday
morning at 6:30 (yes, she is dang, huh?) and I shower, have a quick OJ and coffee and off I go. The blood starts corsing through my veins as I get closer to my destination village and park my car next to that long line of cars of
people that are there already. This Sunday I was in for a real treat, because in the middle of the morning all of the sudden this man comes on a pa system
and annouces in French of course, look up there is a flock of storks. What a
beautiful sight, there circling around the church steaple was a flock of about
100 storks, yeah, storkes the mythical bird that brings the babies. In any case,
seeing as though I am an older girl now and my babies are mostly grown, I did'nt put in an order for any. But I did take home some finds though, this
weeks booty was two rattan covered bottles, I like the texture and graphics
in the weaving, don't you?

It's September here in the Oise and the weather is winding down and starting to get a little chilly. Fall is my favorite time of the year, I start
preparing the menu for my Thanksgiving feast and send out my invations
to my adopted family members and friends to share it with. I have the
same group every year with some new additions. This year my son's french girlfriend, Noahlee will be included and will help me early in the
morning with the Dinde and stuffing. I love it when my children (almost
grown) start to learn about family traditions in cooking, don't you? I keep this tradition alive so that my children know where thier history is also. They may be French but thier American also!
This weekend was raining but I still managed to go between the raindrops and hit three brocantes (weekend village flea markets) Is
it just me? or are you facinated with vintage birdcages also? They
keep finding me or is it the other way around? In any case I found this miniscule one. It's for sale on my Etsy shop you can find it there.
